Our customers never know just what to expect when they come to visit their babies. On this visit, it was feeding time for Archie (U2) and Barbara got the pleasure.... Enjoy this short video clip.

As they say, when it rains it pours. While I was out the other day (2/24), Jeremy took a short video clip of Leeloo, the baby Timneh African Grey we are hand-raising for Lanie, as she was practicing wing flapping and getting minor lift off... What a cute baby and SO fast on her little feet. Jeremy had a hard time keeping ahead of her as she raced across the nursery floor after him.
Enjoy this clip!

Boy, I have been having such fun with my camera and video capability in MAC.
For the past couple of days the Greenwing Macaw baby, Tonka (operating name), we have been hand-raising for Terry and Cyndi, has been giving all us the signs of wanting to take off: he has not been interested in eating,... lots of flapping going on, and MAJOR frustration when he has to go back in his cage.
Today was THE day. And I had my Lumix ready. Enjoy this VERY short video clip of the momentus event!!!

One of the thrills of hand-raising baby parrots is getting to know some GREAT people who buy them. The purchase process is an 'experience' and over the time that the baby parrot is in our care (and home), customers come to visit. At times, their visits coincide with feeding or flight training. On Friday 2/12 Lanie and family came to visit their baby Timneh African Grey (still to be named). The baby Timneh (TAG) in this video is 8 weeks old.
Trying out new things is not always easy - whether you are trying 'on' a new friendship or stepping up to an new challenge. Over the last couple of days we had both.
Baby Greenwing met his new 'forever' friend and sibling for the first time
Archie (baby U2) tackled a challenge with flying colors
I captured both on video and wanted to share the clips with you. Enjoy!
First we will start with Tik9 (B&G Macaw) meeting baby Greenwing for the first time.
Now, watch how Archie masters his first experience with a new swing.
They say (whoever 'they' are anyway?) the sign of a confident bird is a bird that likes to spend time on the ground. Well, we agree with them... And we give our babies lots of time on the ground to walk around, play with toys and explore their surroundings... and playtime with us, of course!
Here is a cute and quick video of the Umbrella Cockatoo we are hand-raising for our customer, Barbara of Federal way. Archie is now 13 weeks old and we captured video of him doing some prancing around the floor - don't confuse him for a drunkin sailor! LOL

Another first here at Beaker's Parrot Place. We have a lot of them these days BUT I am not always able to 'catch' them as they actually happen like I did today.
Today I was lucky enough to witness our 10 week old (10 weeks and 2 days to be exact) baby Greenwing Macaw perching for the first time. [Terry and Cindy - your baby is growing up FAST]
We have a home made PVC perch with two levels and I put it in the baby's play area today because he is starting to climb the play area fence. Enjoy this short video clip of baby's momentous 'first' and, please forgive the gushing surrogate mom in the background (that would be me, LOL).
