Arrowin - He was LOST and now he is FOUND (Luke 15:31-32)

A very scary story with a VERY happy ending.  Here is the thumbnail...

Arrowin, 5.5 month old Congo African Grey went outside with his mom (Sherry) for a little sunshine on Saturday 5/12 - this time without his harness.  Something spooked Arrowin and he took off... way up high he went and out of sight. Sherry called me, panicked, and we both then called on our networks.  Thanks to Russ at Northwest Exotic Bird Society http://nwexoticbirdsociety.org for referring Sherry to the Olympic Bird Fanciers http://olympicbirdfanciers.com/ where members of the Fanciers came out to help as you will see on the video.... Way to go - a big "shout out" to you all!

I spoke with Sherry after Arrowin was found and she commented on the abundance of calls she received from folks who wanted her to know that their thoughts and prayers were with them.

What to do if you lose a bird....

  • Pray
  • Report a lost bird at http://www.911parrotalert.com/
  • Stay calm, if that's possible
  • Call everyone you know and alert them to the situation
  • Put up posters in our local area
  • Call local schools in the area the bird was last seen so that the kids can look
  • Contact any local bird groups for their assistance
  • Drive the area the bird may be in and "listen" for the bird's call.

Bird people are the BEST folks in the world...
Sherry and Rick and Beaker's Parrot Place are forever grateful for the care and love you extended through this most difficult time for Arrowin and his human flock.
