Showering Congo African Grey

It just delights us so much to see progress.... you?

In this situation we exercised patience,  prayed and hoped for the best. AND we are seeing the fruit of our patience. Silverback, our 2 year old Congo African Grey (CAG), has been a plucker (actually shredding) of her tail and feathers on her left wing. Silverback is a relatively new member of our personal flock and we LOVE her so much.  She came to us with a feather shredding problem. The vet conducted all the necessary tests to determine her shredding was not nutritional in nature - meaning nothing wrong on the inside and her diet is good. So be began working with her on changing things in her environment.

Birds need a job!
CAGs are amazingly smart.  All birds need a job but Greys, especially. They are stimulus junkies....the more things to DO and see the better. So we did just that and we are seeing progress... Take a look at this short video clip of Silverback taking a shower. I took this short clip just the other day. Enjoy!
